Why we built TenantAI

Making tenancy information easier to understand

For too long, renters have often had to navigate tenancy rules and processes with less experience and fewer specialised tools than the property professionals they may be dealing with.

That information gap can lead to uncertainty, unnecessary financial loss or accepting an outcome they may have had the right to question.

TenantAI.com.au was built to make tenancy information easier to access, understand and use — giving renters greater confidence throughout their tenancy.

Your Tenancy Doesn't Only Happen During Business Hours.

Something breaks at 10pm. A property manager emails after work. A notice arrives on Friday afternoon. A question comes up over the weekend.

Your tenancy doesn't only happen during business hours. Access to tenancy information shouldn't either.

No legal terminology needed

Common questions

TenantAI FAQ

Is TenantAI legal advice?

No. TenantAI provides general tenancy information. It is not a law firm or a substitute for personalised legal advice.

Where does TenantAI get its information?

For NSW questions, TenantAI uses a controlled source hierarchy including the Residential Tenancies Act, Residential Tenancies Regulation, NSW Government and Fair Trading information, and trusted Tenants' Union guidance.

Is TenantAI just ChatGPT with a different name?

No. General-purpose AI can be useful, but TenantAI adds tenancy-specific retrieval, source hierarchy, calculations, answer structure and source display around the answering model.

Why wouldn't I just Google my question?

Google can help you find pages. TenantAI is designed to retrieve relevant tenancy material, connect the sources and explain how the information relates to the facts you provide.

Why wouldn't I contact NSW Fair Trading or a tenancy advice service?

Those services remain valuable, particularly when you need personal assistance, advocacy or professional advice. TenantAI is an immediate first place to understand the issue and prepare better questions.

Is TenantAI always correct?

No information service is infallible. TenantAI shows its sources so you can check important information against current NSW legislation and obtain legal advice where appropriate.

What counts as one question?

One successful substantive tenancy answer uses one question credit. Clarification-only, out-of-scope and failed responses do not permanently use a credit.

Do I need a credit card to try it?

No. A new account includes three introductory questions without a credit card.

What happens after my 100 questions?

While your annual membership remains valid, you can purchase another 100 questions for A$10 as a one-off top-up.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Annual membership can be managed through the billing portal, with paid access continuing until the end of the current paid period when cancelled at period end.

Will other Australian states be supported?

That is the plan. NSW is available first; each future state or territory will require its own laws, regulations and trusted sources.
